Creator Series: Dan & Galina of Baabuk
We're very proud to introduce to you our first ever Creator Series. Every other month we will share with you interviews with creator friends of ours. This is an opportunity for you to discover amazing people and for us to give a little shoutout to creators that we admire.
First up, our own creators - Galina and Dan of Baabuk!
How do you define what you do?
Galina : @Baabuk - Imagine and organize
Dan : @Baabuk, I would say I have two main roles: One is to fix the problems and the second one is to push the brand to the next level.
How did BAABUK start?
Galina : It all started when I was 5 years old and we moved to Moscow. Valenki – traditional felted boots - were the only shoes you could wear in -30C outside. I remember rolling and make the angels in the snow with my valenkis on.
Dan : It all started with a pair of Valenki I received from my father in law.
Most interesting things that define who you are?
Galina : I love exploring. I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list!
Dan : I hear often the comment from other about me that I have thousands of ideas. I believe there is something true to that.
Your lucky charm is:
Galina : Find shooting stars and make wishes. They always come true!
Dan : Four-leaf clovers. I find them a few times while going walking. But I am not as successful as my mother - she finds them all the time.
Prized possession:
Galina : My running shoes. Some people call it meditation.
Dan : Our chalet in the mountains where I can tinker with all that I want.
What is your favourite place and why?
Galina : I love this place called Earth, but don’t want to call it mine.
Dan : Apart that I want to return to Argentina when I retire, I enjoy a lot of long hours hiking in the mountains. It frees up my thoughts and charges me with plenty of new ideas.
What is your favourite book and why?
Galina : 'Let My People Go Surfing', by Yvon Chouinard. It is a must for anyone starting business.
Dan : “Parfume” by Süskind. It incredible how to understand that how little we use our nose as a body sense.
Your dream dinner party would be with?
Galina : My husband, he is the most creative cook I know.
Dan : “Cedrovicka” group. These are friends from the university.
In another life, you’d be...
Galina : Baaaa - a sheep :)
Dan : I pass this question ;)
One wish for the gold fish:
Galina : To sing like an opera singer.
Dan : Health.
Work is:
Galina : Fulfilling
Dan : Waking up in the morning and having fun all day long.
The future will be:
Galina : Sunny
Dan : Hopefully with wise people.

Galina : Full
Dan : A dictionary from where you can learn a lot.
