Peaks Wooler. Wool Beyond Borders.

BAABUK has joined forces with Pyrenees-based Laines Paysannes to bring you the first sneaker made exclusively with Pyrenees’ sheep wool.

Crafted by several hands, between France, Switzerland and Portugal, the Peaks Wooler crystalizes the vision of two pioneering brands in the World of Wool. Laines Paysannes and BAABUK share the common missions of reconnecting People with Nature through wool, reviving artisanal and industrial know-hows that are both traditional and innovative.

The love child of a weaver and a breeder who met in the Pyrenees, Laines Paysannes has been working hand-in-hand with sheep, farmers, artisans and manufacturers, to create garments, accessories and rugs as an offer of local and sustainable alternatives to the globalized textile industry.

To guarantee wool from happy sheep, it's in the Pyrenees that Laines Paysannes finds the diversity of its wool. The local brand has developed a new fabric for the Peaks, using wool from Tarasconnaise sheep for its bulk, strength and character, and wool from Merino sheep for its flexibility and softness. As for the laces, Rouge du Roussillon sheep's wool has been chosen to add a touch of warmth to the natural colours of the other two breeds.

At the crossroads of streetwear and casualwear, the Peaks Wooler draws on the codes of workwear, mountain sports and urban life to create a sneaker designed for everyone and anyone.

Whether worn in the city or in the countryside, the two years collaboration translates in a design that mixes a raw ancestral material with a minimalist design, with top to bottom meticulous finishes. Its high-top design offers foot support and a stylish touch, with colors and accents to embrace its natural uniqueness. This sneaker is crafted with zero dye, and therefore finds its uniqueness in the natural colour of the sheep fleece.

More than just a woolen sneaker, Peaks is an invitation to embrace a simpler way of life, opened to Nature. It's about moving towards an ethical, inspired, and committed fashion, choosing natural materials and local production methods that bring economical support to the areas from which they originate.
