From shoes inspired by a thousand-year-old design to our time-honored manufacturing techniques, heritage means a lot to us. So as a Swiss company who specializes in wool we’ve long been enamored with the Valais Blacknose sheep, a breed born in Switzerland in the 15th century.

These aren’t just any sheep. Their black faces and markings are so striking against their shaggy, white fleece that they’re considered the cutest sheep in the world.

These sheep live a nomadic lifestyle that makes their wool incredibly durable and strong. In fact, it has such a pronounced crimp that it can’t be twisted—but it’s the perfect consistency for the traditional felted wool we use for our sneakers. That’s why we’re partnering with local Swiss shepherds and farmers to bring this iconic wool to the market in the form of our limited edition Black Nose Sheep Urban Woolers and Sky Woolers.

Designed in Switzerland, each style features Swiss-harvested wool and will also have a striking black “nose”, sole and stitching set against a snowy wool body.

Blacknose Wool Elastic Laces Durable Soles

Blacknose Wool

The Blacknose collection sneakers are crafted with 100% natural wool from the Valais Blacknose Sheep of Switzerland. Inside, we use cozy and itch-free Portuguese merino lining for ultimate comfort. Whether it’s hot or cold, wool’s natural wicking and breathable properties keep your feet at a comfortable temperature.

Elastic Laces

Comfort meets convenience in these elastic laces that making slipping on and off your shoes a breeze. The no-tie design is easy to adjust to ensure a snug fit and makes for a clean, modern look.

Rubber Sole

Our sneakers are built to last. We use a lightweight rubber sole on our Sky Wooler edition to perfectly complement the airy feel of our wool uppers. Our Urban Wooler design features a durable TPU sole. Both soles are designed to be flexible and durable while providing all day comfort and performance that lasts and lasts.

Care FAQ

How do I wash and clean my Baabuk sneakers?
Baabuk sneakers, slip-ons, and ballerina flats are machine washable. We recommend using a wool detergent and the preset "wool" program, or washing at 30° C / 90° F on a gentle cycle. Insoles can be removed during washing, and air drying is recommended

What if the sneakers gets wet?
The fibers of the wool are naturally covered with a special waxy coating. Therefore, wool is naturally water repellent and will be less exposed to stains as spills will less easily be absorbed by the fabric. However, they are not waterproof and will get wet in heavier rain or deep puddles.

If your Baabuk sneakers have gotten wet, simply remove and dry at room temperature. Avoid putting them in a dryer. The wool will not get damaged by water and will not shrink, as the raw material has already been washed and felted.

Are the Urban Woolers and Sky Woolers adequate for cold or hot weather?
Wool is an insulating and regulating material. It will protect your feet from the cold in the winter and keep them cool in the summer. So enjoy your pair of Baabuk at any time of the year!

Can I adjust the elastic laces on the Urban Woolers and Sky Woolers? What if the lace is too long?
Yes! The elastic laces can be easily customized to match your fit and style. They can be re-laced in a variety of patterns and any leftover can simply be cut off to maintain a sleek look. Here's a short video with a few ideas and instructions - Elastic lace customization.
